There once was a goblin named Peter. He wanted to become the greatest recumbent bicyclist of all time. All the other goblins made fun of Peter, because they didn't believe that recumbent cycling was a proper activity for a goblin to pursue. Nevertheless, Peter built himself a recumbent bicycle out of trash and practiced riding it every day. Finally, the day came for the Summer Olympics, and Peter entered the big recumbent bicycle race. He pedaled and pedaled and tried his hardest, and in the end, he came in seventh place. Even though he didn't win, everyone was inspired by his effort and the goblins learned an important lesson about believing in yourself and sportsmanship.

Once upon a time, on a cold winter night, a woman was sitting reading quietly by the fire. She was so engrossed in her book, she didn't hear the creak of the back door. Suddenly, she felt a chill and realized that something was amiss. She crept quietly through the living room, grabbing the fire poker on the way to the kitchen. She pressed herself against the wall at the kitchen entrance and tried to calm her nerves. As she slowly peeked around the corner, all she could see through the darkness was the glint of moon and starlight streaming through the wide open door. She listened for footsteps or any movement within the room, and suddenly heard a rustling noise. She steeled herself for a minute more and then flicked on the light switch so she could see the intruder properly. There, behind the kitchen island was her fat cat, Archibald, rummaging through the garbage looking for leftover scraps to feast on. She scolded herself for being so silly, then Archibald for frightening her so much. After cleaning up the overturned garbage, she picked up Archibald, returned to her cozy seat by the fire, and vowed never to read murder mystery books so close to bed again.
